| Cisco, Apple Reach Agreement on iPhone Trademark
CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Cisco and Apple announced Wednesday that they have resolved their dispute involving the iPhone trademark, NBC11's Scott Budman reported.
Under the agreement, both companies are free to use the iPhone trademark on their products.
Both companies acknowledge the trademark ownership rights that have been granted, and each side will dismiss any pending actions regarding the trademark, Budman reported. The showdown between the Silicon Valley tech heavyweights erupted last month when Cisco sued Apple in San Francisco federal court claiming that Apple's use of the iPhone name constituted a "willful and malicious" violation of a trademark that Cisco has owned since 2000. In addition, Cisco and Apple will explore opportunities for interoperability in the areas of security, and consumer and enterprise communications, according to a news release posted on Apple.com.

Dollar Tops Y118 On US Feb Jobs Data, Jan Trade Data
NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--The dollar gained across the board Friday following news that February payroll data was largely in line with market expectations and that January employment data received an upward revision. Also helping to support the dollar, the U.S. trade deficit shrank by 3.8% in January to $59.12 billion, the Commerce Department. The two reports helped the dollar climb, pushing it above the Y118 mark, while the euro dipped below $1.31 to an intra-session low of $1.3091 and continues to fluctuate. As reported, non-farm payrolls increased 97,000 in February after growing an upwardly revised 146,000 in January, the Labor Department said Friday, and versus an expected 100,000 rise. The unemployment rate fell 0.1 point last month to 4.5% while economists had expected a rate of 4.6%.
